Thanks guys, I’m really lovin hMail, very cool.īTW just for general info.
Netwinsite surgemail password#
Well except for the two password protected files, not sure what to do about those yet. Hmmm, so cool it seems this is working like it supposed to. I see now that apparently one of the emails was clean (no virus test) so it was supposed to come through.

The default selections on Alpha-tec’s page wereĬlean notification e-mail (to confirm that all your test mails were send as your mail protection software should filter them out)Į (standard anti-virus test file, recomented for usual test of your e-mail anti-virus protection) With every test I was getting both the hotmail and the Alpha-tec email depending on the return value set. Ya know, I’m looking at this and I’m thinking I was misunderstanding what was happening. The other four emails from alpha-tec are getting stopped.
Netwinsite surgemail zip#
It appears that the default email that Alpha-tec sends isn’t getting stopped and also the two emails that have the password protected zip attachment don’t get stopped. This time I got my email from hotmail and I got 3 of the Alpha-tec emails. After changing the string and setting the return value back to “1” I sent the emails again only this time I selected all of the options / attachments available on Alpha-tec, 7 all total.

Depending on the settings they would both either come through or both be stopped. The test emails I had been sending were just using the default selections from Alpha-tec and then an email from a hotmail account. It’s hard to be sure though because I altered other things also. Whereas before it seemed to be stopping everything or stopping nothing depending on the “return value” set, it now seems to be stopping some stuff and allowing other stuff. "d:\vscan\vscantm.bin" /nm/nb/s %FILE% /c/d So I changed it from this…ĭ:\appz\trend micro\commandline tools\vscantm.bin" /s/c/d/nm/nb "%FILE% "APPLICATION"Ė08 " 11:00:09.828" "SMTPDeliverer - Message 79535: Message deleted (contained virus)."Īnyone happen to know what the return value should be for vscantm.bin?įirst off I changed the location closer to the top of the directory and then I spotted the location of the %FILE% parameter within the string (DUH) so I moved that so it’s with the /s switch. This line keeps showing up in the log file and I’m pretty sure not every email has a virus attached to it. This path is temporary until I can get it working correctly at which point I will probably make it a little shallower. "d:\appz\trend micro\commandline tools\vscantm.bin" /s/c/d/nm/nb "%FILE%" This is the string I have in the External Virus Scanner: I have taken out the “/lb” switch and the hotmail stuff is still getting dropped. I have been testing it with a hotmail account and also with an EICAR test email. I don’t know if it was the added switch or what. So what I’m thinking would be good to do would be to find out what exactly the return value for a positive is supposed to be and see if that makes the whole thing behave better.Īlso I added a switch to the string to make it write to a log file at which point it seems to have started deleting all email ( I think initially it was letting “hotmail” through, working correctly, or almost correctly). In fact documentation of any kind on “vscantm” seems to be pretty scarce.īe all that as it may, when I enable vscantm in the “External Virus Scanner” panel it does show up in the logs and is apparently working. Also trying to find anything from Trend Micro about the return value hasn’t been very productive. Looking at the documentation about setting up an external scanner it makes reference to the return value and says that if using “250” stops everything then I should set it to “0”. OK so I tracked down all the stuff through that link and where I am now is with vscantm.bin set up and configured in the path for the “External Virus Scanner”. Use it every time for document editing.Sorry for not getting back on this right away.

PlatformĪ comprehensive list of changes between SurgeMail versions is available at in the SurgeMail help and SurgeWeb help Note: Surgeweb changes are documented here: surgeweb change history. This process would generally take about a week to 10 days, but may be longer if there is no compelling reason to be upgrading the latest production build.

Once these "Beta builds" have been proven to be stable they will be upgraded to latest production builds. Although described as beta, these are actually fully fledged production builds. Following are the latest SurgeMail Beta builds.
